School Principal

For Daphne Wilson, leading Northbrook High School (NHS) is more than a professional milestone. It's personal.

NHS is where her oldest daughter graduated, where her children attend school today and where she has invested years helping students, teachers and families succeed. Now, as the school's new principal, Wilson is building on those relationships and continuing her commitment to a community she proudly calls her own.

"I lead with my heart," Wilson said. "Northbrook is not just where I work, it is part of my family's story. I care deeply about our students, our staff and our families, and I will always do whatever is needed to help Northbrook move forward."

Wilson brings nearly 20 years of experience in education, serving as a teacher, literacy coach, district instructional specialist and associate principal. Throughout her career, she has been driven by a passion for helping students achieve at high levels while developing teachers and building systems that allow entire school communities to thrive.

She believes great schools are built on hope and opportunity, places where students are inspired to dream bigger and given the tools to turn those dreams into reality. As principal, Wilson is focused on strengthening instruction, expanding opportunities for students and ensuring every Raider feels connected, challenged and prepared for success beyond graduation.

"I am excited to continue serving the Northbrook High School community because it is a place filled with resilience, pride and possibility," Wilson said. "Together, we will build an even brighter future for every student."

Outside of school, Wilson enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on students at athletic and extracurricular events and reading everything from leadership books to young adult novels. When it's time to unwind, however, you'll likely find her curled up watching a crime documentary—trying to solve the mystery before the detectives do.

For Wilson, leadership is about building people, opportunities and systems that leave every student, every educator and every school stronger than before.
