RAIDER NATION STORY WALL

Raider Nation: Vincent Le, Class of 2023

As part of the celebration of Raider Nation and the legacy of Northbrook High School in Spring Branch ISD, we present a new series based on interviews with graduates from the school.

Vincent Le, Class of 2023, recently shared his experiences as a Raider and how it helped him prepare for where he is today.

In 2023, Vincent Le’s family relocated to Spring Branch. It was right before the start of a national pandemic. Despite this challenge, Vincent was ready to embark on a new chapter, as a sophomore at Northbrook High School. Even as the world held its breath due to the onset of Covid-19, Vincent was preoccupied with his personal struggles - getting accustomed to his new environment as a sophomore at Northbrook High School.

Undeniably, transitioning to a new school was difficult on its own, but Vincent wasn't just stepping into a new phase of education, but he was also navigating through a new, diverse environment. He spent time making connections and learning about his community. And over the course of his three years, he formed deep connections with his classmates and mentors, changing the shy transfer student into a social butterfly.

Vincent joined Band, Tennis and National Honor Society. These platforms, along with the support of his amazing mother, turned out to be life-changing decisions that played a crucial role in his metamorphosis. Not only did they broaden his social circle but it also helped Vincent flourish as a Northbrook Raider. Through these extracurriculars, Vincent found not just companions, but also the allies he was desperately seeking - Cesar Alvarado and Vicente Soria. They propelled him to aim higher and push himself to be outgoing.

Teachers, especially Ms. Myint, influenced Vincent greatly. Ms. Myint turned out to be his ardent supporter, motivating him to always reach higher and aim further. But it wasn’t just Ms. Myint; Mr. Ortega, the band director, allowed him to nurture his passion for music and his Tennis coaches, Coach Luper, and Coach Blain, inspired him to overcome his shyness, and unleash his real potential both on and off the tennis court.

Vincent graduated with pride in the summer of 2023, ranked sixth in his class. However, it was not the academic success that marked his journey but the profound personal development that made Vincent proud. Vincent's life had turned a corner at Northbrook High. He gained confidence, honed his social skills< andovercame challenges, one by one.

His career has only just started at Texas A&M University - College Station, studying Biomedical Sciences on a Pre-Med track. He carries with him, the experiences and learnings from Northbrook High. Looking back at his journey, Vincent concludes that his experiences at Northbrook High taught him to always push his boundaries and exceed expectations.

In his own words, Vincent remarks, "Being a Raider meant having the grit and perseverance to defy the odds." He believes Northbrook has laid a robust foundation that prepares him to successfully journey through his university years and beyond.

Today, he continues to defy the odds and strives for success, embodying the spirit of Northbrook in his heart and the lessons he learned in the core of his personality.
