With a focus on empowering students to realize their full potential, we are committed to cultivating the Core Characteristics of a T-2-4 Ready Graduate in all learners, preparing them for success in college, career, and the future workforce.
We strongly encourage students to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular programs, including athletics, fine arts, mentoring, and volunteer programs.
Our UIL sponsored athletic programs include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
College prep
Our Collegiate Challenge program offers valuable support to students as they prepare for their post-secondary education.
Our program is designed to provide students with one-on-one mentoring from community volunteers who serve as advisors and encouragers throughout the college application process.
Whether students need assistance with exploring college and university options, applying for financial aid, or writing college essays, Collegiate Challenge offers a multi-faceted approach to help our students thrive.
By providing personalized guidance and support, we're ensure that our students are well-prepared for their first day on a college or university campus and beyond.

Unique opportunities
Northbrook offers a variety of courses to cater to students' diverse needs. Our offerings include:

- Advanced Placement (AP)
- Dual Enrollment (DE), Dual Credit (DC)
- Grade-level courses
In addition, students can earn college credit through the district's Early College (EC) program by enrolling in Houston Community College classes.
To complement Northbrook High School's offerings, SBISD's Guthrie Center provides Career & Technical Education pathways for students who want to focus on careers in fields such as:

The Guthrie Center also offers an Internship program for 11th and 12th grade students to gain on-the-job experience, and its Navy JROTC program is available to students in grades 9 through 12, having won numerous awards.
