Congratulations to 12th grader Emily Urbina Vazquez, Character Without Question recipient from Northbrook High School!
Every year, SBISD honors students district-wide who reflect a depth of character and a caring for human beings. Students are selected for demonstrating an enduring commitment to any or all of the following character traits: honesty/integrity, responsibility/dependability, respect, perseverance/effort, courage, caring/kindness, and citizenship/civic virtue.
Emily’s counselor, Cameron Raska, wrote, “Ms. Urbina...is kind, caring, intelligent, strong, and not afraid to take risks. She is responsible because she made up all of her work when she was absent, and she always worked hard in class. She even showed her NHS spirit by dressing up on spirit days. I saw her help other students, as well. I have no doubt about her character now and in the future. She will be this way forever.” Emily was selected for her commitment to being responsible, respectful, and persevering.
