How many science courses must I take?
Two courses are required. Most colleges will not accept Integrated Physics and Chemistry. Starting in the fall of 2007, students will be required by state law to take four years of science in order to graduate high school. More information.
What science course must I take?
Biology is the only required course.
What animals are dissected in biology?
In most biology classes, the fetal pig is dissected. Occasionally the frog, earthworms and crayfish are dissected. Cow hearts, sheep lungs, and pig kidneys are also used to teach the major body systems.
How accessible is technology in the Northbrook High School science department?
The science department has three mobile labs that can be used by any science teacher. Other computer labs are available in the library. Each student has a student folder that can be used to save their work.
