Handbook:
"A necessary
factor in school morale concerns student dress. As a student's
appearance many times governs his attitude and behavior, neat, clean,
modest attire is important. Sloppy, tattered, or distracting dress
detracts from the learning atmosphere and is considered inappropriate.
The following rules have been established to create the most beneficial
environment for the student.
Students found to be in violation of the dress code will be subject to
disciplinary action. Class time missed for dress code violations will be
considered unexcused.
GENERAL
-
Hats, caps, and bandanas are not permitted in
school. Violation of this policy will result in the item being
turned in to the appropriate grade level office. The item will be
returned ONLY to the parent PRIOR to the end of the school year. IN
ALL CASES, RETURN OF THE ITEM WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE GRADE
LEVEL PRINCIPALS.

Clothing may not be worn which displays (written
or pictured) obscene or distasteful slogans, advertises tobacco,
drugs, alcoholic beverages, or prohibited substances.

Being barefoot on campus is not acceptable. House
slippers, etc. are not permitted.

See-through clothing is not permitted.

Shirts should cover the top of the lower articles
of clothing. Garments that expose the midriff or expose the midriff
when arms are raised overhead, are not acceptable.

Shorts must have at least a 5” inseam.

Hair should be clean, neat, and well-groomed.
-
Groups of students wearing similar clothing that
are known to represent non-approved student groups, such as gangs,
are NOT allowed.

Towels, T-shirts, or similar articles may not be
carried or displayed.

Visible spandex articles or boxer/athletic shorts
will not be allowed. Leggings will ONLY be allowed with a dress or
shirt that is at least knee length.

Sunglasses and non-corrective eyewear are not to
be worn on campus.

Headphones, radios and/or portable CD players are
not allowed.
-
No squirt guns will be allowed on campus.

Clothing must be worn as originally manufactured.
BOYS
-
Beards and goatees are not permitted. Boys will
be asked to shave. Refusal to do this may result in disciplinary
action.

Sideburns can be no longer than the earlobe.

Sleeveless shirts should be modest in appearance.
GIRLS
-
Halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, and
tops which expose undergarments are not permitted.

Undergarments, top and bottom, must be worn at
all times.

Skirts and dresses must be of modest length, no
higher than mid-thigh.
