Band

Mr. Gonzalez is the Head Band Director, and Mr. Ortega is the Assistant Band Director for Northbrook High School.

During the fall semester, the Northbrook High School Band performs as the Ragin' Raider Marching Band.  The band performs at all the varsity football games, pep rallies, several parades and Pre-UIL and UIL Marching Contests and local marching festivals.  In 2006-2007, the N.H.S. Ragin' Raider Band performed at the Sam Houston State Festival and received First Place in their division.  In 2007-2008, they returned to defend their spot and were awarded First Place in their division for the second year in a row.

During the spring semester, the N.H.S. Band students perform as the Northbrook HS Symphonic Band and the Concert Band.  The bands perform a Holiday Concert, Mid-Winter and Spring Concert.  We also compete at our Pre-UIL and UIL Concert Contest and Sight Reading.

*We have also added a new class this year and are super excited about our newest performing group, the NHS Jazz Band. We hope to learn new and exciting music and styles to showcase in our concerts.

New for 2011-2012

We have started working on our new show for this year, The Rise and Fall of Rome. We are excited about this years show and are ready to continue to work hard to have another awesome year.  Please come to our football games, contest, and concerts we will have this year.  Go Raider Band!

UPDATE:  On Saturday, October 22, the Northbrook High School Marching Raider Band received straight 1's and their letter to advance to AREA Marching Contest next weekend!! Congratulation to all Raider Band students and their families.  This truly shows you that hard work DOES pay off. Keep working hard to reach all your goals and Good Luck at Area Marching Contest!!! Go Band! Go Raiders!

 2010-2011:  The Northbrook High School Ragin' Raider Band has earned their First Division Rating from Region 27 UIL Marching Contest held at the Berry Center Stadium, Cy-Fair, ISD on October 16, 2010.  This trophy is the first one in close to 20 years. Their directors, staff at NHS and all of SBISD are proud of the band students' accomplishments this year.  GO BAND! GO RAIDERS!
